A hamlet of S Angus, Kellas (formerly known as the Hole of Murroes) lies a mile (1.5 km) north of the boundary with Dundee and 1¼ miles (2 km) southwest of Wellbank. The Sweet Burn flows past the village to the east and then onwards to the Murroes a half-mile (0.8 km) beyond.
