A remote crofting township located at the end of the B 8060 road in the South Lochs district of Lewis, Limervoy (also Limervay and Lemreway, Gael: Leumrabhagh) looks out onto Eilean Iuvard at the mouth of Loch Shell, 14 miles (22.5 km) south southwest of Stornoway. Limervoy was cleared for sheep in 1831, but re-settled with people moved east from Steimreway in 1857. Today, Limervoy has a pier, post office and a Church of Scotland. The smaller settlement of Orinsay lies a mile (1.5 km) to the west.
