A small hamlet in W Aberdeenshire, Glenkindie is located on the A97 road 8 miles (13 km) west of Alford. The Glenkindie Arms Hotel was a drover's inn dating from the 16th century. There is a prominent standing stone at the eastern end of the settlement. Glenkindie House, lying a mile (1.5 km) to the west northwest, was the property of the Leith family.
