A crofting township on the west coast of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides, Shawbost (Gael: Siabost) is situated on the Shawbost River between Carloway and Barvas, 13 miles (21 km) northwest of Stornoway. The township has a Folk Museum, community school, with a sports hall and swimming pool which are open to the public. Shawbost includes the linear extensions of North Shawbost (Gael:Siabost bho Thuath), South Shawbost (Gael:Siabost bho Dheas) and New Shawbost (Gael:Pairc Shiaboist).
