Garenin

(Na Gearrannan)
Western Isles

A crofting township on the west coast of the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides, Garenin (Gael: Na Gearrannan) lies 1¼ miles (2 km) northwest of Carloway. The oldest houses in the village, closest to the shore, have been designated a conservation area and restored as the Gearrannan Blackhouse Village, including a youth hostel, museum and interpretation centre.
