Gisla

(Giosla)
Western Isles

A small hamlet with a power station on the west shore of Little Loch Roag in W Lewis in the Outer Hebrides, Gisla (Gael: Giosla) is located 19 miles (30 km) west southwest of Stornoway. Once a more significant crofting settlement, the people were cleared at their own request in the early 1850s. A small hydro-electric power station is now located here.
