Ardbeg

Argyll and Bute

The most easterly of the four whisky settlements strung out along the A846 road on the south coast of the island of Islay, Ardbeg lies 3 miles (5 km) east of Port Ellen. The distillery here was founded in 1815 and produces malt whisky. There is a disused pier next to the distillery, but another which is used a quarter-mile (0.5 km) to the east.
