Newlands

Scottish Borders

A small settlement, with a church and a bridge in a parish of the same name in the Scottish Borders, Newlands lies on left bank of the Lyne Water a mile (1.5 km) south of Romanno Bridge. Newlands Bridge dates from the 18th C., while the church was built in the first half of the 14th century, destroyed by fire c.1795 and replaced with a new building not far from the original in 1838.
