Kirkfieldbank

South Lanarkshire

A small village, in a parish of the same name, Kirkfieldbank lies in the Clyde Valley opposite the junction of the Mouse Water with the River Clyde, a mile (1.5 km) west of Lanark. Two bridges cross the river here, the older is the Clydesholm Bridge dating from 1699. The waterfalls of Stonebyres Linn lie just downstream and the heritage village of New Lanark lies a mile (1.5 km) upstream. A mural in the Riverside Bar by Alasdair Gray (b.1934) was restored by the artist in 2009.

The Clyde Valley Caravan Park lies on the opposite bank of the river.
