Edinbain, a hamlet in Duirinish parish, Isle of Skye, Inverness-shire, at the head of Loch Grishinish, 10½ miles E of Dunvegan, and 13½ NW of Portree, under which it has a post office, with money order, savings' bank, and telegraph departments. At it are a comfortable little inn, a merchant's shop, a smithy, a ill, a public school, a shooting-lodge, and a slated, stonebuilt hospital, founded and amply endowed by the late Mr Macleod of Grishinish.
