A complex peak with multiple summits interspersed with tiny lochans, Sgorr Bhogachain is situated in the south of the island of Islay in Argyll and Bute, 3½ miles (5.5 km) north northwest of Ardbeg and 4½ miles (7 km) north northeast of Port Ellen. Its principal summit rises steeply to 374m (1227 feet), while the other summits are markedly lower, at between 270m and 340m (885 - 1115 feet).
