Whitehill

A district of Glasgow, lying 1¼ miles (2 km) east of the city centre, Whitehill forms an eastern section of the larger district of Dennistoun and takes its name from the former Whitehill House, built for the noted 'tobacco lord' John Glassford (1715 - 1783). Whitehill Street runs south from Alexandra Parade, while Whitehill Secondary School is located nearby on Onslow Street, as is the Whitehill Community Education Centre.
