Glen Almond

(Strath Almond)

Glen Almond, the valley of the River Almond in Perth and Kinross, extends southeast and east from the source of the Almond south of Loch Tay to the junction of the Almond with the Tay just north of Perth. For part of its middle course the river flows through the Sma' Glen before meandering past Glenalmond College and through the former industrial village of Almondbank. Glenalmond College (formally Trinity College, Glen Almond) was founded in 1843 as a theological college of the Scottish Episcopal Church. The lower section of the valley is sometimes referred to as Strath Almond.
