Loch Lednock Reservoir

A substantial body of water at the head of Glen Lednock in W Perth & Kinross, Loch Lednock Reservoir is located 3 miles (5 km) northeast of Loch Earn and 5 miles (8 km) south of Loch Tay. Retained by a massive concrete buttress dam, designed to resist small earthquakes which occasionally occur along the nearby Highland Boundary Fault, the reservoir was constructed in 1957 to supply water to the power station at St. Fillans as part of the Breadalbane Hydro-Electric Power Scheme.
