Rosneath Peninsula

Lying between the Gare Loch and Loch Long in Argyll and Bute, on the north shore of the Firth of Clyde, the Rosneath Peninsula is 6 miles (10 km) in length and between 1 mile (1.5 km) and 2½ miles (4 km) wide. Its settlements are Garelochhead, Clynder, Rosneath, Kilcreggan, Cove and Coulport. The Royal Naval Armament Depot at Coulport provides storage facilities for Trident nuclear weapons which arm the submarines based at nearby Faslane.
