The Saddle

The Saddle is the last in a range of peaks located south of Glen Shiel, straddling the border of Lochaber and Skye & Lochalsh districts of Highland Council and is recognised as the finest in the area. It is classified as a Munro. Its eastern ridge, named the Forcan Ridge, is a very popular scrambling route. The summit can be found at 1011m (3318 feet), 4 miles (6.5 km) south of Shiel Bridge, and is a level crest which is about 100m (328 feet) in length. The western end is the site of an Ordnance Survey triangulation pillar, whilst the summit cairn is found on a rocky buttress to the east.
