A country park and local nature reserve to the east of Sauchie in Clackmannanshire, Gartmorn Dam Country Park is centred around the oldest man-made reservoir still operating in Scotland and incorporates facilities for picnicking, fishing, bird-watching, cycling, walking and horse-riding. Extending to 150 ha (370 acres), the park was created in 1982 having been designated as a local nature reserve owing to its importance for migratory wildfowl in the winter months and rare pondweeds. Many bird species, including Great Crested Grebe (Podiceps cristatus), live here year-round and breed in the summer.
In addition to circular walks around Gartmorn Dam itself, there are paths through Cowpark Wood and the Gartmorn Forest, to the west and north, and a community woodland to the southeast. The park is managed by the ranger service of Clackmannanshire Council.
