Moan, Loch, a lake on the mutual border of Barr parish, Ayrshire, and Minnigaff parish, Kirkcudbrightshire, 7¾ miles ENE of Barrhill station. Lying 675 feet above sea-level, it has an utmost length and breadth of 6½ and 3 furlongs; is deeply indented in outline and studded with four islets; contains large pike; and sends off the river Cree to the head of Wigtown Bay.Ord.
