Parish of Portree

Portree is a coastal island parish, which lies on the Isle of Skye in Highland Council Area, some 19 miles (31 km) northwest of Kyle of Lochalsh and 30 miles (48 km) southwest of Gairloch in Highland and includes 4 other small offshore islands.

It is located in the old county of Invernessshire, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.

The parish has an area of 128 sq. km (49.4 sq. miles) and includes the settlement of Portree. Portree has Bracadale, Snizort and Strath as its neighbouring parishes.
