A village in Perth and Kinross, Bankfoot lies 5 miles (8 km) southeast of Dunkeld. Once known as Auchtergaven, the village straddles the old A9 road, now designated the B867. The minor poet, Robert Nicoll, was born at nearby Tullybelton in 1814.
