A hamlet in Clydesdale, Roberton lies on the River Clyde to the north of Abington. Chartered as a burgh of barony in 1631, it once prospered near a river crossing. The A73 road runs through the settlement, while the A702 trunk road and West Coast Main Line railway pass on the opposite bank of the river.
