It flows 32 miles (51 km) eastwards through Strath Earn, eventually meeting the River Tay at the head of the Firth of Tay near Bridge of Earn. On its course it passes the settlements of Comrie and Crieff and is crossed by fine bridges at Kinkell, Dalreoch, Dupplin and Bridge of Earn.
