Ardgour

A mountainous area of Lochaber in Highland Council Area, Ardgour lies to the east of Sunart and is bounded by Loch Eil to the north, Loch Linnhe to the east, Loch Shiel to the west and Loch Sunart and Glen Tarbert to the south. The highest peak is Sgurr Dhomhnuill (888m / 2915 feet). The uplands of Ardgour are mostly drained eastwards to Loch Linnhe by streams that flow down through glens such as Glen Gour, Glen Scaddle and the Cona Glen and on the shore of Loch Sunart is the former mining settlement of Strontian. At the Corran Narrows on Loch Linnhe there is a ferry crossing.
