Parish of Laggan

Laggan is a parish, which lies in Highland Council Area, some 16 miles (26 km) southwest of Kingussie and 17 miles (27 km) southeast of Fort Augustus in Highland.

It is located in the old county of Invernessshire, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.

The parish has an area of 639.3 sq. km (246.8 sq. miles). Laggan has 6 neighbouring parishes; namely Blair Atholl, Boleskine & Abertarff, Fortingall, Kilmonivaig, Kingussie & Insh and Moy & Dalarossie. The boundaries of this parish were modified among significant changes recommended by the Boundary Commissioners after the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1889.
